He stinks!

You know when you finally get to hold your new baby and all you can do is stare at him and smell him? Oh, I love those days! The wonderful smells of my babies, oh, I can't get enough!! {for those that don't know me.... I don't like other peoples babies, nothing against them, but I won't ever ask to hold a baby... it's not my thing. I totally love mine... just not yours}

Well trying to savor those moments as long as possible, I took a wiff of Tim today as he was cuddled up in my lap. Holy Moly!!!!!!
That baby smell is long gone! That boy STUNK!! A really gross stink. Like little boy, who had not had a bath in at least a week {he really was thrown in last night}

I guess now I will have to save my smellings to freshly washed hair as he gets out of the bathtub. That's the only time I can be sure off.

I love you Tim, even if you do stink....

  1. Just wait until they hit age 10. Then the stink hits a whole new level! We had to buy my son deoderant this year! It was sooner than I thought, but well worth it!

  2. How funny. I am totally with you on how other people's kids aren't my 'favorites'. I am quite relieved to know I'm not the only one.

    But I do think some other people's kids are super cute and funny...like yours, for sure!!

    even if they do stink.

    ;)

  3. It's true they stink, especially if they have just come in from playing outside. I call it the "wet dog" smell. Thank heavens for soap and good smelling shampoo!

  5. As the mom of four boys, I so get that. We call it Boy Funk at our house. If I declare that I can smell boy funk someone needs a shower. Too funny. Stopping by from SITS!

  8. Yes, at age 10 it goes down hill - however, my youngest (of 5 boys) had the stinkiest feet ever these last few monhts! EEEOOOWWWW! However, they start smelling great at 14 - however, if you multiply that times how many boys you have - that's a lot of stink smellin' years! (I do have the secret to stinky feet, though - Mitchim's Roll On Anti-perspirant right after a bath on their feet - and socks!)

    Here's to a few more little stinky years before the major stink hits - LOL

  12. Stopping by from SITS...
    I'm so glad I'm not alone! I'm just really not into other people's kids. Is that wrong?
    I have a 14-year old son and those sweet-smelling days are over. That baby smell of his has been replaced by cologne! Luckily, I have an 8 month old baby girl that smells perfectly sweet.
    Love your blog! Congratulations on being the featured blog of the day! :)

  13. pray he doesn't play hockey because that's a stink you won't forget. It's like a cross between a filthy cat box and the stinkiest feet you ever smelled. It makes me gag and I'm a nurse.

  14. Happy Sits day early lol. As amother of 3 boys myself let me forewarn you ti does not get better. Instead they begin to run too the cologne and it is usually enough to kill ahorse because well boys have no clue about managing how much they use. If one spray or splash smells good 10 do better lol

  15. My fiance and I are expecting our first, a daughter, at the end of this month, and I'm just hoping she'll smells better than our beagle. Even though Maggie doesn't smell so bad for a dog. I just hope Maya learns her hygiene habits from me rather than her father, who thinks it's okay to get all sweaty and then come home and sit in my couch and put his smelly feet up on my coffee table >=[ Febreeze isn't a miracle worker!

  20. Happy SITS Day!

    I love the smell of babies. But, yeah, I'm with you on that do-you-ever-wash-this-kid odor. It seems like it happens all of a sudden. Maybe it's just because kids grow up so fast.

    My 10 year old just started using deoderant and my 3 and 5 year old haven't smelt like roses in awhile. At least my 9 month old still smells like a baby most of the time. LOL Happy SITS day!

    My 8 year old daughter has very thick hair, and I've made the mistake of taking a deep breath of it... Not so nice if hair wash day is a few days past!

  31. I've got a house full of boys myself, but at least the cat is a girl...she hates me though.

    I love the smell of freshly-washed boys and I'm totally with you on that metallic-sweaty-reek they get when they suddenly stop being babies and start being little men.
