To the Park

It has been awhile since we have been in an actual winter. I had forgotten how long the cold days last.... and how random they come.

We'll have a couple days that are cold, and even a little snowy.... and then the very next day it will be in the 70's.  That is what spring is like here in Utah.... until summer.

The boys had a day off, and I had some errands to run.
The boys were great while we were in and out of the car for about 2 hours, so at the last stop I piked up some cookies and we headed to the park to play.
I think the boys really enjoyed getting out of the house and to run a bit.
We love going to parks, and finding new places to play. The only down side to this park on this day was the locked bathrooms. I had two that needed to go.... and while the little one could get away with peeing near the car.... the bigger one couldn't. So we had to leave. But this park is only about a mile from our house so easily within walking distance.
It was a great day to be at the park, the next day was back to school and routine.... and jackets because it was overcast with a "chance of snow in the afternoon"

Weirdness in Utah

So the other day I was feeling board, and had been in the house to long. So I packed to boys up to go and find something.

Boy oh boy.... find something we did! We found a funny little park in the middle of Salt Lake. Really, it was tucked behind a bread store and a couple of houses.

It was a park that was full of sculptures... Kinda odd ones. It was the Gilgal Gardens. I took a couple pictures but the boys took my camera and took the rest.... they did a pretty good job.

 The boys next to a sculpture of some books.... the Standard Works I guess

Ok... so I'm really bad with symbolism so I have no idea what is going on or what it means...
 Joseph Smith's head on a Sphinx {taken my James}

 Two hands and two hearts {taken by James}

 I have no idea {taken by James}

 The keystone {there is also a bird house} {taken by James}
 A bird of some sort.... I didn't notice it until I saw the picture {taken by Tommy}
 An anvil.... seriously no idea. {taken by Tommy}
 A self sculpture of the artist Thomas Childs {Tim took this picture and I think it looks really cool with the leaves in front of it}
 Tommy took this one.

 Tim took this of his brother.
 And one of some of the boys and I
 And he wanted a funny one.
Tim also took this one of Benji. Poor Benji really wanted to use the camera too.... he has a year or two before I'm going to let him loose with my camera.

It was a fun day and we hit a GeoCache. We found a funny little park and spent the day outside.

Here's to weirdness in the city.

Kinda, sorta, fall.... for a day

It was cold!! Not bone chilling, need a snow suit cold but we actually had to break out jackets last week. We went to the park to have a little birthday party with some friends and it really felt like it was fall! I was so happy!

But then the next day it was back in the 80's and sunny again. I guess you get what you can and be happy with that. Here are some cute pictures of the boys, on that chilly day.

{James really did like the cupcake he was eating... I just couldn't get him to smile about it}

Tommy showing me his tricks

Tim before the cupcake attacked him!

Oh, What a Beatiful Day!

(Ok, to start with this is only funny because we found James naked the night before.... I went in to the boys' room to check on them and I look and see that Tommy has taken off his bottoms and his diaper and is laying half naked in his bed. Not wet or anything, just naked. Not exactly sure why, but there you go)

So yesterday was BEAUTIFUL!!!! The sun was shining and the birds were chirpping, and the children were happy to be outside. So to start things off I went for a 2.8 mile run and realized that the shoes that I has were 7 years old. (gasp, I know) So I needed new shoes. The shoes I got are so cool and really hot.

They are black with shiny blue stripes. I'm really looking forward to taking them out for a run. So they just played outside in the morning and after naps we went to the park to play.

Here we have James and Tommy playing the the dirt. Now during the winter time everything dies and usually stays that way until the rainy season. During that time Sierra Vista is so green and really pretty. Anyway... the boys found the only dirt area in teh entire park it was about 2.5 feet around. Just like puddles, leave it to my boys to find the dirt.

So I watching the boys and all of a sudden I see a random shoe...

I looked around and here are the feet that the shoes belong to. The dirt kept getting into his shoes and decided that not only did the dirt bother him but that his feet "needed the sun" (Tommy is definately my child)

So Tim's independence is driving me crazy. From now (16 months) until about 20-22 months is the scary times for moms and the child that likes to play on the park equipment. And that is where Tim is at, he see's his brothers climbing and playing and thinks he needs to do it too.

OK, this is Tim going up the steps....
And this is Tim going down the stairs... Does anyone else see the problem with this?

And as always Captain is around to keep an eye on the boys. He's a great dog and climbs with the boys and goes down the slides with them.
So here is to the close to a great (sunny, warm, 74 degree) day. Looking forward to the longer warmer days that are up and coming.
