Learning to Fly

See Tommy.
See Tommy on the table.
See Tommy on the table wearing a jacket in the summer time.
See Tommy on the table in a funny one legged pose.
See Tommy jump.
See Tommy try to fly.

Tommy wanted to learn to fly this summer. I was busy with a new baby so Tommy took matters into his own hands. He asked for paper and when that didn't work he tried plastic bags. He came in to discuss the problem that he was having. "Mom.... I can only get this far off the ground!!??" So while I fed the baby we talked about how bird and mammals are different. As we talked we decided that it wasn't possible to make his bone hollow so he would have to think of something else to help him.

Feathers!!! It was feathers that he needed. So he got out the art box only to find.... to his dismay that there were only 17 feathers. "Mom... that's just not enough!"

Next best thing... more plastic bags. But how to keep them on his body. He figured he needed new skin. So with the donning of a jacket to "Mom... this is my new skin" he fastened the bags to himself and off he went. He was on a mission.

After the picnic table did not offer the lift that he needed, he moved over to the trampoline. "Higher jumps might do it."

The wings have been temporally put on hold. "Mom I need bird skin to fly. Can we have Chicken Noodle Soup for dinner?"

Trains and Dinosaurs

Tim is no longer 3. He had a birthday and aged up a year. My {use-to-be} baby turned 4!! I still can't believe that it's been 4 years since I was rushed to the hospital because I was bleeding. I was 30 weeks pregnant and Tim thought he was done cooking. {my microwave baby}

He likes trains and dinosaurs... obsessed really. So that's what the boy got.

A train to put together, and a book to go with it.
He was so excited about the puzzle.It's 4 feet long!
He thought it was really cool that it was longer than he was.
He wanted a dinosaur cake... so there you go. I did a chocolate from scratch and played around with the frosting. I wanted to do colors that kinda matched the dinosaurs and they ended up looking dirty, which I guess was ok but not really what I was going for. {do you like the lava??? it's fruit roll-ups. It was a lot of fun but I definately need some work.

Again, I really can't believe that he is 4 already. I mean really?? Where does time go? Tim you are a great big brother and an exceptional kid! I'm so happy to have you a part of this family. You smile lights up a room and your big blue eyes will get you just about what ever you want. I hope this year is a great one for you. I love you!!!

My boys

6:30pm - clean up
7:00pm - Get ready for bed.
8:00pm - Bed time
9:00pm - Look up stairs and this is what I see. There are three little boys up there.
Now normally I would have sent them all back to bed but upon further observation I see James, Tommy and Tim taking turns reading to each other. They were being quiet and staying upstairs so I couldn't say no. And they were READING! Why would I want to stop that.

They are really good about putting the books back {after a gental reminder} And they put themselves to bed about 9:30. So I say read away!

{you can see Tim peeking past the wall at me}
I got all the boys on the couch for a picture together. It's so fun having the 4 of them, and the boys. And the big ones help out quite a bit with Benji. I still have a hard time thinking that up until 2 months Benji wasn't here yet.

There is something so sweet about this picture. Even with Benji crying, the love that they all have for each other is so sweet. Even with the sleepless nights and the crazies that live in this house it's wonderful to be here.

One Month!!

I know this is late... like a month late {new pictures will be up soon} But really!!! One month already!

You see the pictures of the little girls with the big flowers in their hair. Yeah... I couldn't do that to Benji, so... sans flower and in it's place a sock monkey. I saw it at Target and thought it was so cute.
I love this picture of him.
At this time {one month ago....} he was still waking up at least once a night. Usually between 4:30 and 5:30. Most nights he was pretty good to eat.. be changed.... and go back to sleep. There was one night though.... Holy Moly. It was a hard night of no sleeping, and ended up with me taking a 2 mile walk at 4:30 am.

But all is right with the world now.

I love this boy! I can't imagin life with out him.

one quick click will help me get into the top 25!!
