Hello Car

When I was pregnant with Tim I was really sick... really sick!

Well James liked to play cars and always wanted me to play with him.

So I made up this game called "Hello Car" basically I had a car and so did he and they drove around and talked to each other.

I didn't have to move during this game.

It was win-win.
I taught Benji how to play.

So now Benji will drag around a tote of cars and plop them down and wait for someone... anyone to play with him.

Today it's me, and we are playing Hello Car.

More Warriors

We did a quick study on New Zealand and about the Maori Warriors and the facial tattoos. We had a lot of  fun being Maori for the day. {and night, and day as it took a while for the eyeliner to come off their bodies}

Tommy being all scary and stuff.

Tim really liked the tattoos and wanted me to do his leg too. After this lesson we talked about why we don't tattoo our bodies.
Poor James got sick right after I did his face. So he is posing on the bathroom floor, and then his got wiped off so he could lay in his bed for the day. {poor guy}

Hopefully the Maori customs of tattooing one's history on the face stays on the wonderful island of New Zealand... I think the boys are too white to pull off being an islander.

Ear Infection... No Problem

A few nights ago Steve and I were watching a movie just enjoying our quiet night when all of a sudden we heard screaming. I go into the boys' room and Benji is awake and miserable! He had a fever, was crying and was pulling at his ear.

After a quick check by Steve it was confirmed that he had an ear infection.

Now most would do the best they can and give the baby some Tylenol, hope for the best and then call the doctor in the morning.

Our story is a bit different....

Steve checked his legs and his left leg was short {by just over a 1/2 inch} then Steve corrected his Atlas, checked his legs again and they were the same. His crying stopped almost immediately.

Now this is the incredible part... Benji settled right down and snuggled with me. As I was holding him I felt his fever go down. It was crazy!

Over the next hour he settled down and was ready to be put back to bed.

The next morning he woke up happy and ready to run crazy again. There was no sign of the ear infection that plagued him the night before.

The power of Upper Cervical is amazing!!

Babies don't like miniture golf

We had a free day so we decided to go miniature golfing. Sounded like a good time. We piled in the car and headed on out. We didn't end up where we thought we were going but no big deal... where we ended up was cheaper anyway. We pull in and wouldn't you know it... Steve got a call that he had to take. So rather than have the boys screaming in the car we all piled out so they could scream outside of the car.

After standing around waiting for Steve to finish, I decided that we would just start with out him. I got us all paid for and we headed in. I live with a competitive bunch of boys so I thought I would take score.

That lasted less than the first hole.

Benji wanted to throw all the balls into the water.

James was hitting the ball like he would with a 9-Iron.

Tommy kept putting his ball by the hole, putting it in and declaring that he got a hole in one.

And Tim kept stopping everyone elses balls as they were rolling down the green.

I decided that keeping score was not going to work with this bunch.

Steve finished his call and joined us on the 3rd hole and was happy to practice his putting again.

Then he took turns with each of the boys. Tim was mighty excited just to hit the ball like he was "really golfing"
After hitting the ball out of the park and into the joining parking lot, James learned how to softly put the ball.
Tommy kinda go the hang of it... but when nobody was looking he would pick up his ball and move it close to the hole... "Hole in 2!!" he would declare.
{I was looking though all of my pictures and realize that I really don't have any pictures of Tommy by himself... poor middle child.}
I just thought this was a funny picture of him... this is a squat put.
And Benji.... oh, B. I really didn't get to play much, I was chasing after our little run-away.  He like the big airplane and  would go and stand in the middle of everyone elses game to get a better look.

Of course this is after trying to throw the balls into the pond. Try to get the balls out of the pond. Trying to get himself in the pond. grabbing people's balls and running away. Not wanting to stay with us.
It was a fun morning, made better by the long nap that B took and the quiet afternoon with the boys.
Let it be known that I did get a Hole-in-One, but nobody saw it. B was leaning over the fence and Tommy and Tim were fighting to see who would go first and James was pointing out that the clouds looked like flying turtles.

But that is neither here nor there.

Tunes on Tuesday

A little known fact about me is that I'm really passionate about music. I love listening to the lyrics of the songs and absorbing them. I'm going to post different songs that have touched my life or just hit me.

This is a song from Nickleback "If Today Was Your Last Day". I think Nickleback is a great band and their songs are really good. I heard this on the radio and it really made me think. What if today was my last day? What would I do?

This is a great video!!! Watch it until the end!

My best friend gave me the best advice He said each day’s a gift and not a given right Leave no stone unturned, leave your fears behind And try to take the path less traveled by That first step you take is the longest stride
If today was your last dayand tomorrow was too late Could you say goodbye to yesterday?Would you live each moment like your last? Leave old pictures in the past Donate every dime you have? If today was your last day

Against the grain should be a way of life What’s worth the prize is always worth the fight Every second counts ’cause there’s no second try So live like you’ll never live it twice Don’t take the free ride in your own life

If today was your last day and tomorrow was too late Could you say goodbye to yesterday?Would you live each moment like your last? Leave old pictures in the past Donate every dime you have? Would you call old friends you never see? Reminisce of memories Would you forgive your enemies? Would you find that one you’re dreamin’ of? Swear up and down to God above That you finally fall in love If today was your last day

If today was your last day Would you make your mark by mending a broken heart? You know it’s never too late to shoot for the stars Regardless of who you are So do whatever it takes ‘Cause you can’t rewind a moment in this life Let nothin’ stand in your way Cause the hands of time are never on your side

If today was your last day and tomorrow was too late Could you say goodbye to yesterday?
Would you live each moment like your last? Leave old pictures in the past Donate every dime you have? Would you call old friends you never see? Reminisce of memories Would you forgive your enemies? Would you find that one you’re dreamin’ of? Swear up and down to God above That you finally fall in loveIf today was your last day

What would you do if today was your last day???

Nothing to say

I feel like I am in a funk again wit blogging.

I have so much to say but the words are not forming.... or they are and it's just a jumbled mess that falls out of my head onto the page.

So I thought I would write... without a subject to write about.

Usually when I write I have a picture to go with it, or a story that I want to share, or something that has happen that I want to document. Nothing really is coming to me.

We are getting ready to move in the next 6 months. I know I say that and I'm sure you are thinking... well that's still a long time. But really it's not. We have some big things coming up here in the next month. Steve and I are going to Vegas for a conference and then I'm going to FPEA homeschool convention {I am really excited about this!!} And then he is on break for the summer. It's going to go by so fast!

During that break we are looking into driving out to Colorado where we are going to eventually put down some roots and also tour some Church History.

After that.... 3 more months and then we are done here. Another chapter in our life will come to an end and we will turn the page to something new.

I'm scared... and excited... and hopeful.

Sometimes I get frustrated by how fast time goes. I wish it would stop some times. And let me enjoy the day a bit longer.

Things here have been good. We are in a good routine for school and chores and family. We are managing well.

Me.... I am becoming a bit more organized. {yeah me} I have a long way to go, but I can see progress that is being made.

The boys are growing... and I don't just say that... they really are. I measured them today and in 6 months James and Tim both grew an inch, Tommy about a half inch, and Benji... a full 5 inches! Soon James is going to be looking me in the eyes!!

The days here are getting really warm and I am actually looking forward to our beach days. We school 4 days a week.... it gives us an extra day to play with friends. Right now we are attending Co-op and that takes our Friday. Once that is done it opens us up again for an extra day... so we go to the beach. Spend the morning playing on the sand and surf. Then we go home, eat lunch and watch movies the rest of the day. {4-5 hours at the beach usually drains us all so it's a good day to do nothing} I will admit it... I will miss the beach a little.

I have days where I know we would be a great reality TV people. Some of the stuff that goes on in this house would really make for good viewing.... but today is not one of those days. We are pretty normal and boring today.

Boring isn't a bad thing.

It's kind of a nice change from the chaos of most days

one quick click will help me get into the top 25!!
