One of THOSE days...

Have you ever had one of those days where if you hear the word "mom" one more time {especially if it's in a high pitch "I'm-trying-to-get-you-in-trouble", or "I-have-nothing-to complain-about-so-I'm-going-to-annoy-you" voices} you are going to box up children and send them away?..... or just lock them outside

I thought so. I knew I wasn't the only one.
{No child or pet or mom was harmed during this time and despite what any child will ever say they were only locked outside for 20 minutes.....and there is a hose and dog house, they would have been fine.}

I've had MORE than one! And I have done the same thing. When Isaac was 3, I was so fed up that I put him on the front porch (in the dark in a foreign country)and told him to stay there until I was ready to let him back in. A few minutes later I heard a knock on the back door. It was a very repentant little boy.

Too funny!! I've never locked mine outside, but I have locked myself in my bedroom, put my ipod on and pretended like I was single with no children and no resposibilities before! We all need a break once in a while.

Probably almost every mom out there can relate to this. Luckily, you live somewhere warm right now, so you can send the kids outside.

No Joke! Seriously just the other day I tried the whole lock you screaming child out of the house method too. But since it was around freezing temperature I decided that my shivering should probably come back in. Nobody was hurt either and it wasn't even longer than a minute but the crying stopped. :) Well I think you are a great mom. No matter what!

You are so funny! Its good to look back on those days and laugh. I've locked kids outside, in thier bedrooms - even in the bathroom (he was covered in poop!)

That makes me wish I had a backyard with a huge cement wall like you do! I lock them in their room at this point. Thats where all their toys are - so it probably works out great for them. I do it when they are fighting too. I stick them in their room together and tell them they can't come out till they learn to get along. I love you Leah!

P.S. I'm so glad to see your husband is home safely. Give him a hug for me and tell him thanks for serving our country.

Yeah, you're definitely not the only one. Did you get away last night or at least put the kids to bed early last night? Hopefully today is better.

Thanks for visiting my blog. I hope you win.

I just had that "please don't make not like to called mom" moment with my girls, plus my son's sick so it's a little chaotic today.
Cute shot! :)

Lol. Yup. I nanny for 4 kids and most days I think about changing my name because if I hear "Yaya" one more time I wanna pull my hair out!

OK I've instituted "lunch break" at my house. Everyday after dinner I leave my husband in charge and go lay in my bed with my precious iPod and ignore the world for at least 45 minutes. I highly recommend this.

You've pretty much described the year 2004 for me.

We all have those moments where we just need a break, right? You have the most important thing needed for those situations: a sense of humor!

LOL...I can relate...just dont call me mom any more today.

Funny, some days I wish I could do this to the other people's children I watch too ;)

Great picture. Happy Featured Blogger day!

Absolutely! Thanks for putting it out there. The guilt I feel on those days makes me even grumpier and less patient with the, "Mama, Mama, Mama" chorus.

Haha, that's so adorable, big ol' crocodile tears from the little guy. I'm sure there will be times I'm frustrated, but I still can't wait to be a mom!

Funny picture! Sometimes moms need time outs too...

Mommy time out. :-)

Sarah and the Gentlemen said...

I'm surrounded by boys too! There have been times when everyone was in time out at the same time so I could have a break from the squabbles. Other times I go into the bathroom, lock the door, and treat myself to a little time out with a good novel ... until someone is in desperate need of the potty.

Oh, that's awesome! Too funny. I can totally relate - although we have 3 girls instead! Some days the tears & whining are almost too much to take! Hope you're enjoying your day in the SITS spotlight!

Hahaha! I don't have kids yet, but I know I will *TOTALLY* be this kind of mom if my kids end up anything like me or my sister. God have mercy on me. lol
