The other day I got up in the morning and did my morning thing.... You know, I went pee. As I was washing my hands I heard something, and out of the corner of my eye I thought I saw something in the toilet. I looked and could see nothing so I just brushed it off.
About two hours later Tommy comes running down stairs telling me that there is a frog in the bathroom!!! I am shocked!! I mean really... I asked him where it came from and he said the toilet. I go up stairs and yup... there is a FROG!!!
OH... you can't see it... here's another shot!
Right there... on my toilet!
Fortunately the frog jumped the way of the tub and he was trapped in there while I was trying to catch him. {can you imagin us chasing this thing in and out of the rooms and under beds and toys and stuff... }
There was a lot of screaming by me and the boys just giggled with delight as they watch me jump around trying to catch this thing.
Finally I got it in a cup and covered with a wash cloth and we put Froggy outside. Yes, it was in the house long enough to get a name...
{I ALWAYS check the toilets now.... I really don't want any more surprises!}
Oh... and by the way... this is the SECOND frog that was found in the house.... I bet they both got in the same way! I'm all about nature as long as it stays outside!

HA HA! That is a great story! We don't get frogs in the house, here it is scorpions!
Hey,
Dropped in from SITS :)
Pnce we founf a monitor lizard in the potty, imagine my horror! But then again my dad was posted near a sanctuary so it was supposedly normal :P
I agree...nature should stay in nature! I have enough wild life living in my house with 4 kids.
I have lived in Florida my entire life (minus a few years) and this has never happened to me. Carazy!
Thanks for adding me to your sidebar - I feel so popular. ;)
OMG! I would've left the house! Lol
I don't do frogs at ALL. I can't stand them it goes back to a child hood incident and I've never forgotten it. Ugh!
I was 9 or 10 and living in the Virgin Islands and a frog managed to get into my bedroom. I didn't see it so while I was walking I stepped on him and immediately lifted my foot when I felt him. He was stuck to the bottom of my foot. Ugh! I took my foot and scraped it along my bed frame to get him off and that little bugger hopped away! I started screaming! I must have washed my foot 50+ times that evening! Lol
I've never forgotten it. I can do lizards, Iguanas, certain bugs but, I can't do frogs!
BTW: Popped in from SITS!
Woah...yikes.
You have such an adventurous life.
SO MUCH FUN!!
hysterical! i was always afraid of a snake coming out of the toilet as a kid (some story i saw on the news) and this may just have renewed those fears!
We have tons of frogs in our neighborhood. They usually come out at night. Once one jumped into a bucket on the patio and scared us half to death - we thought it was a burglar or something - but nope just a frog!
That is so funny!! We get frogs in our house all the time- but never one that big, or in the toilet!! Welcome to Florida!
That's so funny but I'd freak out if I saw a frog on my toilet! I'm surprised you didn't let your boys help catch it, I'm sure they would be quicker than you.
Congrats on your SITS day--enjoying your blog very much!
Yikes, that's hilarious - and freaky! I'm so not a friend of nature, that would have definitely made me freak out!
So sweet little Froggy!
Would've freaked me out to no end!
Congrats on your SITS day!
Holy Crap! That totally would have freaked me out! I don't want a frog looking at and judging my butt.
The cutest thing about this post is the visual of you screaming and the boys giggling! BOYS! They are too cute! :)) This is a good laugh in the morning!
Haha... You just don't get a day off from adventure, do you?
Yep. I say if they want to get inside then it's free game. In FL we get ugly super fast lizards that try and get in. I'm surprised the boys didn't ask if they could keep Froggy!
My best, Lynn
We've had a couple snakes...but no frogs.
Wow...now that is a first. Looks like he found his new pond.
I would have died seeing that thing on/in my toilet. OMGosh!
{Although it does have to be better than a snake. BTW, NEVER google "snake in the toilet".}
Awww! He's actually pretty cute!
I will take your frog and trade you my scorpions. Yes, for real. It's horrible. I used to fear spiders and now, I'd take spiders over scorpions. But any nature is still enough to freak me out!
Not a fan of peeing with frogs!
Happy SITS day!
Peggy
crazy! At least frogs aren't harmful, but I'm with you, I'd like nature to stay outside, in nature. But, such is not the way of the world!
You have to admit that that is pretty entertaining. At least it was a frog and not other more lethal creepy crawlies.
Happy SITS Day!
At least it wasn't a spider. Spiders freak me out. Frogs are cute.
Happy SITS Day!!
Good thing it wasn't a snake! Yikes!
WHAT?! That's nuts! At least it wasn't a snake!!!
Wow! That's a trip. I have never heard such a thing.
Phew...I thought for sure you were going to say it was a snake or something horrible of the like.
A frog couldn't do much damage to a unsuspecting squatting bum!! Thank heavens.
I agree, nature belongs outside! i remember, as a teen turning a corner, in my parents house (on more than one occasion) to be confronted by a scorpion! As for frogs, I did find a tiny frog hanging around in one of my flower pots (outside), much cuter there than in the toilet!
Happy SITS feature day!
That is too funny! I always check the toilet before using the bathroom because I'm terrified of finding a surprise like that. I never really thought about frogs though!
Oh how FUNNY! That is too much!
I have a very strong rule about nature staying OUTSIDE.
But a frog? How in the hell?
I'm glad you took care of it. I still make my roommate escort the camel crickets out of my bathroom whenever they appear because I'm a giant girl.
I would definitely be checking the toilet every time I went to sit down!
I would have freaked out! I completely agree that nature stays out. If I want to commune with it, I'll let it know!
Happy SITS day.
I would TOTALLY have freaked had I sat down and a frog got on me.
Note to self: check before sitting down. LOL
Welcome to the SISta-hood!
This was/is always my greatest fear in the bathroom... repitilian creatures (frogs, snakes, whatevers) crawling out of the toilet when I do my thing. That's just terrifying! And SO funny! The chasing the frog around the bathtub has me in stitches still.
Oh it's adorable! I love frogs - I may have kept it.
Unfortunately I'm with those who would have kept both frogs as pets... this is why I bemoan by girl ;) But hey, at least they're harmless!
Ok, this is pretty bad, BUT it's much better than a SNAKE coming out of the toilet, right? Our house (and apparently all our neighbors' houses) recently was invaded by LADYBUGS. They were cute at first, til we started finding their little carcasses everywhere...My daughter, however, is thrilled everytime she finds one of her "ladybug friends"
As much as I am not afraid of frogs one on or in my toilet would FREAK me out!
